NCDAT Unites to Raise Funds for Cancer Research UK
New College Durham Academies Trust has demonstrated the power of collaboration by rallying its family of schools to raise money for Cancer Research UK, culminating in a remarkable fundraising effort. The total amount raised was unveiled at Business Beats Cancer North East's annual Gala Dinner where CEO, Linda Rodham presented a cheque for £6,200 to chair of the board Chris Breckon.
Throughout the Spring term, schools across the trust took part in various fundraising initiatives, which each school encouraged to develop creative ways to raise money. From sponsored football matches, non uniform days and a sponsored bounce-athon, the fundraising drive brought together pupils, parents, and staff in a shared mission to support life-saving cancer research.
CEO, Linda Rodham praised the dedication of the schools, stating:
'This incredible achievement reflects the values of our schools- collaboration, respect and ambition. By working together we have not only raised vital funds but also educated our students on the importance of giving back to society.'
The success of the fundraising initiative has set a precedent for the upcoming marathon which will include all 7 schools in one day taking on 26.2 miles.
This campaign has not only raised money but has strengthened the sense of unity across the trust - proving that when our schools comes together for a cause, they can make a real difference.
